“Infinity Terminal” marks the 3rd full length from the electronic duo, Fermion. This time around, the band pushes into darker territory exploring the more EBM & industrial side of their sound. From the energetic and catchy “Surveillance”, the more brooding & steady beats of “Relapsed”, and the experimental nightmarish passage of the title track, Fermion has stepped up their game in terms of songwriting, production, and sound design. Lyrically they explore the wonders and horrors of technology, how humans can be prisoners of their minds, and the overall feelings one can have when under the burden of isolation, whether that’s by choice, or simply just feeling unseen in the world. In the end though, there’s always a shred of hope that runs through their music, as demonstrated in the closing track “Counting Down” which is a borderline ode to the synthpop heroes of yesterday with its Kraftwerk type synths and ethereal melodies.
